Mural honoring Johnstown native, Spider-Man co-creator being installed downtown

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Installation of the mural honoring Johnstown native Steve Ditko began this week.
Ditko helped create Marvel comic characters like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.
The 49-foot wide and 28-foot-high mural is being placed on the side of the Stone Bridge Brewing Company along Washington Street downtown.
Those involved say the project has been more than two years in the making and will be the only Marvel-approved piece of public art in the entire world.
“It’s unbelievable and hopefully it’s very inspirational to the younger generation coming up and we can inspire the next Steve Ditko that’s going to come out of Johnstown.”
Workers say they are hoping to have the mural completely installed by the end of next week.
