Steelers decline 5th year option for RB Najee Harris
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly declined the 5th year contract option for running-back Najee Harris.
This means that, unless a new contract is negotiated, Harris would become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this upcoming season.
Harris was drafted out of Alabama in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Najee has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons with the Steelers, becoming the first Pittsburgh running-back to do so.
Harris has 22 career rushing touchdowns, and six more through the air.
