UPJ claims 24th NCAA Regional Wrestling Title

JOHNSTOWN, PA (WJAC) - Pitt-Johnstown hosted the NCAA Division II Super I Region Saturday where the Mountain Cats claimed their 24th Regional Title.

Six UPJ wrestlers qualified for nationals and three won championships. Head coach Pat Pecora was named by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as the 2021-22 NCAA Division II Super I Region Coach of the Year for the 20th time in his 46-year career.

Below are the final results from the UPJ wrestlers who qualified for nationals.

CHAMPIONSHIPS:

141 lbs. - Caleb Morris won by Tech Fall 18-1

149 lbs . - Jacob Ealy won by Fall to claim his 2nd NCAA Regional Title

165 lbs. - Dillion Keane won by Major Decision 8-0

3rd Place:

125 lbs. - Matt Siszka won by Fall

157 lbs. - Nate Smith won by 6-2 Dec

174 lbs. - Brock Biddle won by 4-1 Dec
