No swimming at Presque Isle beach because of elevated E. coli count

A heads-up if you're heading to Lake Erie for swimming:

One of the beaches at Presque Isle State Park has restricted swimming because of an elevated count of Escherichia coli bacteria, according to the Erie County Department of Health.

As of Monday, no swimming is allowed at Beach 8 until testing confirms E. coli has dropped to safe levels.

Officials say recreational activities like sunbathing and volleyball are still allowed.

For more information, you can call Erie County Department of Health at 814-451-6700 or Presque Isle State Park at 814-833-7424.
