BLAIR COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Police say a Blair County teenager is facing charges after he allegedly burglarized a local convenience store and stole over $1,000 worth of vapes. Tyrone Borough police say officers were dispatched early Tuesday morning to the Tyrone Convenience Store, located along Columbia Ave., for reports of a possible burglary. Authorities say a witness reported seeing a younger male standing outside the store, with the front window smashed.
Washington County, PA (WJAC) — Moving on! Johnstown has advanced to the semi-final portion of the Pony League World Series bracket after defeating Chinese Taipei by a score of 4-2 Monday evening. Johnstown scored all four of its runs in the first four innings of the game to hand Chinese Taipei its first tournament loss since 2014. Johnstown now awaits the winner of Chinese Taipei and Bay County, Michigan. The winner of that game would have to defeat Johnstown twice to advance to the tournament championship, with the first of those two games scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — A city official confirms to 6 News that a major project to revitalize and beautify downtown Johnstown could impact Central Park. Economic Development Director John Dubnansky said the $24 million downtown project announced in February will target the inclined plane, the train station as well as sidewalks and improvements to Main Street. He said changes to the park could be part of final design. Dubnansky said a team in New York City will design several options for the city.

WESTMONT, Pa. (WJAC) — The Westmont Hilltop School District held an auction Friday morning at the old elementary school building. Superintendent Tom Mitchell says the purpose was to clear out the building and get rid of the items that aren't needed. This included chairs, desks, mowers and kitchen equipment. He says the building has been functioning at its minimum while the school district completed the transition to its current building.

That’s the goal of a growing number of veterinarians nationwide as a new treatment is showing positive results in fighting what can be a deadly virus for dogs. At the Metzger Animal Hospital, we visited Maverick, a three-month-old black lab puppy. “So, Maverick presented with symptoms; he was a very sad puppy, kind of lethargic.” It was suspected that Maverick had canine Parvovirus, and testing showed that he is positive for the virus and is isolated.
DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa [TND] — The case of a missing 8-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, whose remains were found in 1975, was solved. Authorities in Media, Pennsylvania charged 83-year-old David Zandstra with criminal homicide, murder of the first, second, and third degree, kidnapping of a minor and the possession of an instrument of crime, nearly 50 years after Gretchen Harrington was murdered. Zandstra admitted to the crime, according to Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Stollsteimer.
