The public technological art sculpture linking Dublin to NYC reopened on Sunday after it was temporarily shut down due to "inappropriate behavior," according to organizers. Spectators are able to witness, again, a live stream connection between the two exhibits, but only during a set number of hours. CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — Pennsylvania state police say a fugitive college student wanted in the killings of two people in Connecticut is now believed to be in Hagerstown, Maryland. Authorities say they believe 23-year-old Peter Manfredonia was spotted Tuesday night in northeastern Pennsylvania which prompted a fruitless hours-long search. Troopers said Wednesday, Manfredonia was possibly sighted at a Sheetz in Chambersburg and they later recovered a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe at the same Sheetz.

The recent closure announcement of Johnstown’s personal care facility, The Atrium, is just one of hundreds of personal care facilities that have shut down since the pandemic. Officials from the Pennsylvania Health Care Association or PHCA, and LeadingAge PA, citing reasons ranging from a lack of funding, to inflation and work force challenges. The aging population in Pennsylvania is surpassing the working-age population creating a lack of access to care while the gap between reimbursement and actual cost of living or care is widening.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The historic Conrad building — which sat vacant for years in Johnstown — was demolished last summer. But Johnstown resident and former City Council member Charlene Stanton recently cited demolition dangers. "Everybody can shout, ‘hooray, the building is down,’ but regulations and laws should've been complied with, because it should've been a simple demolition,” she told 6 News. The City of Johnstown hired Steel Valley Contractors out of Youngstown, OH and CSI Construction out of Verona, PA for the $166,000 demolition.

The elections office has released the unofficial results of the May 16 primary elections. And it is turning out to be a big win for write-in candidates. Douglas Braff spoke with the county elections director and one of the write-in candidates about the results. Dawn Graham, the director of elections and voter registration in Clearfield County, tells 6 News that while the results are unofficial, she expects little to no changes in the vote count by June 5.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) - A group of young people in Johnstown are spending their summer helping others through hands-on projects, while they improve their skills for the workforce. This Summer, they've joined forces with another program to make sure children in our area get a good night's sleep. Summer is here, a time to have fun and relax but a team of young adults in Johnstown are staying busy. They’re building their skills in a workforce development program calledJohnstown Youth Corps.
JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Tomahawks hosted an alumni game, featuring Chiefs and former Pittsburgh Penguins players. Tyler Kennedy--a 2009 Stanley Cup Champion with the Penguins--and Darius Kasparaitis--who played six seasons with the Penguins--each participated in the game. The Johnstown Chiefs alumni team faced off against the Johnstown Warriors U18 team. Chiefs Alumni beat the Warriors, 9-4. Kasparaitis scored two goals. Some of the proceeds raised by the game will benefit Johnstown's youth hockey programs.
