SAN DIEGO, Calif. (WKRC) — An officer resigned after locking himself in the backseat with a female detainee. According to The New York Post, San Diego Officer Anthony Hair resigned around a month after a probe was launched into an incident in August 2023. Per the publication, it was just one day before he was scheduled with meet with investigators for a second interview regarding the matter. CBS 8 reported that in adherence to California Law, the San Diego Police Department recently released information on its internal investigation into Hair and the events on August 15, 2023.
SIPESVILLE, Pa. – Several people were arrested after a drug bust in Somerset County Thursday. State police said they raided a home on Schoolhouse Road in Sipesville looking for Ty Soberdash, who had an active warrant. According to police, once at the home, they found a variety of drugs in an upstairs bedroom, including mushrooms, heroin, black tar heroin, pills and meth. Police said Boyd Williamson was in that room at the time and was also found to have a large sum of cash on him.
LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — A fire consumed a building in Clearfield County on Sunday morning. The blaze gutted the old Clearfield Glass shop, leaving it a shell of tin and charred wood. Clearfield County Dispatch told 6 News there were, fortunately, no injuries. Dispatch also told us crews were called to the old Clearfield Glass on Turnpike Ave. in Lawrence Township around 6:40am. A 30-year resident of the neighborhood across the road told 6 News that's around the time when he first noticed the fire.

While governors and mayors across the nation are dealing with the fallout from those being forced to leave the force, there has not been the same rancor locally yet. Pennsylvania State Police staff is not under any mandate. Corrections officers are part of the Wolf administration’s order to vaccinate or face weekly tests, something they’re suing over.
Somerset county treasurer tony DeLuca says county commissioners restricted access that he used to have over the ‘MUNIS’ payment system, used by county officials. He says he believes he should have oversight on payroll transactions. “It's all about treating everyone fairly in this county. But, it's also about those $13,000 of taxpayers money that was illegally gave to an employee by the commissioners.” DeLuca says. According to Deluca, $12,780.45 to be exact.
Bedford County, PA — A new study shows the range of feral hogs expanding northwards into 14 of Pennsylvania's counties. It’s from the outdoor trip planning website, Captain Experiences, which uses data from The University Of Georgia. Professors from the Penn State University say Bedford county is seeing the most severe of these effects, out of the 10 counties in our coverage area. Melanie Barkley, of Penn State Bedford says “The Feral Swine” can easily adapt to life on their own.

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers received a small parade, with fire truck escorts, as the squad left the school Wednesday on its way to Hershey for the PIAA state basketball championships. Fans lined the parking lot of the school, as well as Main Street, to show their support for the team. Berlin will take on Imani Christian Academy on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the GIANT Center for the Class 1A title.
