WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Tuesday marks 13 days since a protest encampment, which remains a steadfast presence as streets remain closed, took over the U-Yard at George Washington University.
Over the weekend, University President Ellen Granberg released a message on the university’s website in response to the ongoing campus protests stating what’s happening on campus is unlawful.
“I fully support and encourage our community to speak out and engage in controversial and critical dialogues on these crucial issues—as long as they occur within the limits of our university's policies and the District's laws,” the letter reads.

The food bank continues its theme of caring and sharing with other similar organizations throughout Centre County.
Food banks are valuable resources in many communities.
In State College Tuesday, there was a sizeable donation for the food bank from a regular contributor.
The food bank is able to use those contributions to share resources with other service organizations, who in many cases serve the same clientele.
OAKLAND, Calif. (TND) — City officials in Oakland, California replaced traffic lights at a busy intersection with stop signs after thieves gutted the signal for its copper wire, KPIX reported Saturday.
In place of a traffic signal hanging over the intersection of E. 12th Street and 16th Avenue, drivers now see an all-way stop sign. The signal which previously hung there reportedly suffered from outages due to frequent tampering with its electrical system.
