Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County are providing an update on the investigation into the fatal officer-involved shooting from earlier this month.
On Friday, Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli ruled that the officers involved in the July 2nd shooting were justified in killing 59-year-old Robbie Saunders.
Investigators say on the afternoon of Sunday, July 2nd, officers were called to a home along Gravel Hill Road, in Ligonier Township, for a report of a disturbance.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. — A Blair County man is dead after being thrown from his motorcycle in Bedford County Saturday evening around 9:30, state police say.
According to a press release, Lowell Musselman, 47, was traveling west on Helsel Road in Kimmel Township when he attempted to negotiate a slight right curve.
State police say Musselman's motorcycle began to turn on it's right side as it began to exit the southern edge of the road.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Pennsylvania man who authorities say killed his girlfriend in a Nevada desert has been convicted.
A jury in U.S. District Court in Nevada on Wednesday found John Matthew Chapman, 44, guilty of one count of kidnapping resulting in death, court records show. He faces life in prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled for Aug. 2.
Authorities did not release the woman's name. They say that after killing her in September 2019, Chapman pretended to be her on her Facebook messenger account and lived at her residence.
Punxsutawney, Pa.--Punxsutawney Borough Police Chief, James Borza, has unexpectedly resigned.
Punxsutawney Mayor, Richard Alexander, said Borza handed him the resignation letter Friday. 6 News asked Alexander what his reaction was.
"It was somewhat of a surprise but it really wasn't," Alexander said. 6 News then asked Alexander why he wasn't surprised but Alexander said he wasn't able to comment on that right now.
